Cpl. Darius Jones, an intelligence analyst with Marine Aircraft Group 12, and a New York native, went to a specialized high school where he maintained his motivation for wanting a better future. He struggled with crime and negativity outside of school, but it didn't stop him from taking the step to join the United States Marine Corps. Since he joined, Jones attained a meritorious promotion to corporal and recently led his Marines in physical training at the obstacle course with a focus on teamwork and leadership. Rolls-Royce presents a vision of a future land-based control centre in which a small crew of 7 to 14 people monitor and control a fleet of remote controlled and autonomous vessels across the world. The crew uses interactive smart screens, voice recognition systems, holograms and surveillance drones to monitor what is happening both on board and around the ship. Remote and autonomous ships are one of three elements of the company’s innovative Ship Intelligence strategy, which will enable customers to transform their marine businesses by harnessing the power of big data. The film marks the final stage of research that will inform the design and construction of an effective remote operations centre which is essential to the company’s plans to develop autonomous and remote controlled vessel...

Director of Marine Corps Intelligence Brigadier General Michael S. Groen gave a lecture on "Marine Corps Intelligence and the 'New Normal'" at The Institute of World Politics on October 14, 2014. This event was the inaugural lecture in the Marine Corps Intelligence Association, Inc. Speaker Series, which will examine current and past challenges of Marine Corps intelligence.
Marine Corps Intelligence entered Desert Storm with a force that was under-manned, under-trained, and under-equipped. As one great September 1991 Marine Corps Gazette article by an Intelligence Marine summed it: "Unfortunately, We Fought Like We Trained." In 1994, the Marine Corps implemented the post-Desert Storm plan to improve Marine Corps Intelligence. This discussion with Michael Decker, former Assistant Director of Intelligence for the U.S. Marine Corps, covers the first 15 years of that plan, a period with 9/11 at its halfway point. This event was co-hosted by The Institute of World Politics and the Marine Corps Intelligence Association on March 26, 2015.
Eod disposes of a cache of ied making material in Iraq, and we discover the distance of our Osh-Gosh 7-ton has been overlooked. We are definitely too close. Our driver takes a grapefruit sided rock to the forearm and over reacts slightly. He was not seriously injured. He just got a minor bruise and abrasion out of the deal. Also, at the end, I'm not laughing at his misfortune, just at the situation we've put ourselves in and the potential catastrophic consequences we luckily avoided. If you watch closely, you can see some VERY large boulders that were thrown due to the cache being inside a cave when detonated.
